Are you planning on travelling to Africa for a great Safari adventure, but you have no idea what to put into your suitcase without going over the regular luggage limit? Well, we have the answer for you, to make the dreaded packing process much easier for you, and the trip to Africa as enjoyable as possible!

#1

You have probably heard of the blistering heat in Africa, and although this may be a slightly exaggerated phrase, do not under estimate how hot it can get in various parts of Africa. Expect temperatures ranging between 20 and 45 degrees Celsius especially in the summer, so you must be prepared! Be sure to have your best sun cream lotion with you, to avoid getting patchy skin or a stinging sunburn, that’s sure to ruin the rest of your vacation.

#2

Keeping in line with the theme of heat in Africa, make sure to back a sunhat well as a good quality pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes from the glare of the sun especially when traipsing in the Kalahari or Namib Desert – these would go well with a sun hat as well as they make a really cool fashion statement for an Instagram post or memories to look back on the future!

#3

A good quality pair of hiking boots or sturdy trainers to protect your feet from blisters whilst on bush walks, and trekking the rugged landscape of various parts in Africa. Not only will these protect your feet as you walk, they also will not get damaged as you kick your feet against rocks and thorns and twigs and all the other straggly bits of nature that could arm an otherwise flimsier pair of shoes. Alongside these, a pair of sandals or flip flops will be handy especially during natural showers and swimming in the many lakes littered across the African continent

As it can get cold, especially in the mornings and evenings, be sure to bring a warm jacket or two to withstand the cold in the desert or even in the cool valleys of Nyanga in Zimbabwe. A water bottle is essential. Make sure to have one so as to store water to drink while on Safari bush walks, game drives and all the other activities you will have whilst there. A camera and a pair of binoculars are of utmost importance to make the visual experience of an African safari all the more memorable! This will ensure that even when you leave, the memories of Africa remain as vivid and clear as if you were still there at that exact moment!
